Tewa Banks, Arrowtown

This site located at Jopp St, Arrowtown was gifted to us from QLDC in 2022, and is our largest development to date.

The masterplan provides for 68 new homes, ranging in size from one to four-bedrooms, and will be held under a mixed tenure of all our housing programmes; Public Housing Rental, Senior Housing, Affordable Rental, Rent Saver and Secure Home. 

These will all be provided with the help and support of the New Zealand Government.

Following an independent sustainability review, we've worked hard to incorporate further design features to improve sustainability and energy efficiency outcomes for the homes and overall masterplan, such as Ground Source Heating for all homes.

After breaking ground in late 2022, we completed earthworks in 2023 and are scheduled to complete civil works late 2024.

Construction of 15 houses in Stage 1 has started, with first homes due for completion from Spring this year.  We're looking to start Stage 2 construction late 2024.

Household Allocation Process Summary

Public Housing (x15) - these will be allocated based on highest need, and households need to be on the Government’s Public Housing register in order to be eligible.

Affordable Rentals (x5) - also allocated based on highest need, focusing on low-income households who do not qualify for Public Housing.

Rent Saver (x4) - based on length of time on the waiting list, assuming households have the capacity to pay market rent and commit to the required savings plan.

Secure Home (x48) - based on length of time on the waiting list, assuming households have sufficient income and deposit to purchase the home.

Allocation of Tewa Banks homes 


The first six Senior Housing cottages have been allocated. We have six very happy senior households all eagerly awaiting completion of their new homes, around September 2024. 


Allocation of the remaining 62 homes will take place as each construction stage nears completion, with the next allocation round to commence in June 2024. You can find out how homes are allocated here. 


As a larger development with 68 homes in total, the development has been broken into nine stages of construction, rolling one after the other from now through to May 2026.


To have an opportunity to be considered for one of these homes, you must be on our waiting list.


If you're already on our waiting list all you need to do is ensure we have your up-to-date details and keep an eye on your emails for more information and an invitation to express your interest in these homes.  Keeping us up to date means ensuring we have your correct contact details, that we know how many adults and children will be living in your home and what your total household income and savings figures are.
