2024 year in review

2024 has provided us with plenty of challenges alongside some fantastic wins and milestones to celebrate. A big thanks goes out to the Queenstown Lakes District Council; Ministry of Housing and Urban Development and several local developers who have provided land or homes to us, to be retained as community housing in perpetuity. Collaboration amongst all the stakeholders is the secret sauce! 2025 will no doubt continue to deliver challenges - but also opportunities. Key highlights include:

🤝Heads of Agreement in place with Mana Tāhuna, which acknowledges our shared values and kaupapa around providing housing to Māori and others most in need.

🏡23 new households into our assisted ownership under our Secure Home programme.

👨‍👨‍👧‍👦39 new households into our various rental programmes, including 20 in brand new homes at Hanley’s Farm.

🏠 Construction complete on our 28-lot development at Longview, Lake Hāwea, and Stage 2 underway with another four new 4-bed homes.

🔨Construction complete on two homes at Mt Cardrona Station, and four homes at Hikuwai, Wānaka.

🚜Civil works complete at Tewa Banks in Arrowtown, alongside the first six of 68 homes. This was a major milestone we celebrated in November when we officially opened the development, with those who have supported us in bringing this project to life.

👫A new team member bringing our operational team to six kaimahi - all dedicated to delivering innovative housing solutions across the Queenstown Lakes, alongside our outstanding Board of Trustees.

💲A further $9m of 15-year, interest-free loans confirmed under the Progressive Home Ownership fund and a $5m grant from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.
