QLCHT Trustees
QLCHT is governed by a board of six Trustees, who between them provide a wide range of expertise and skills. It is well represented by all the relevant professions including legal, financial and property professionals as well as people who feel and understand the heartbeat of the community.

Richard Thomas
ChairBorn and bred in Queenstown, Richard has a strong commercial background and has been involved in businesses throughout New Zealand and overseas. After returning home from the UK in 2002 to take over a family-owned business, he’s now a director of Skyline Enterprises Ltd, amongst a number of other entities. He's also involved in many other facets of the community, including Snow Sports NZ and Destination Queenstown. When he has time, he enjoys all the wonderful activities Queenstown has to offer including skiing, fishing, tramping golf and quality time with his wife and children.

Joanne Conroy
Deputy ChairJo has lived in Queenstown for over 30 years and for most of that time has been involved in the property industry. She previously owned APL Property, a Queenstown based property management and valuation Company and now manages the Whakatipu Wildlife Trust. Jo has a strong involvement in the Queenstown community and has a clear understanding of local housing affordability challenges faced by residents.

Raymond Key
TrusteeOtago born-and-bred, Raymond Key lives in Queenstown with his wife and three children. He brings financial expertise to the Board after 20 years’ experience in equity markets, specifically global physical and financial precious and industrial metals as well as iron ore. He sits on various other local Boards and chairs the Wakatipu Community Foundation. Ray is passionate about Central Otago and achieving the right outcomes for people living the region.

Jayne Macdonald
TrusteePartner at Queenstown based law firm MACTODD, Jayne specialises in Environmental and Local Government law as well as advising on related transactional matters. She has lived in Queenstown for the past 25 years and takes an active interest in the community, currently serving as Chairperson of the Lakes District Hospital Foundation, and a Trustee of the ADEPT-MACTODD Charitable Trust.

Phil Smith
TrusteeOriginally from West Otago, Phil grew up holidaying in Wanaka and moved there permanently in 2002. He is experienced in the building industry, having held management and ownership roles in local firms and serving on the Central Otago Executive of the Registered Master Builders Association. He spends his working days as Business Development Manager for Integrity Homes. Phil and his wife are active in the Upper Clutha community along with their three children.

Brad McLeay
TrusteeBrad hails from Rotorua, and lived in Queenstown from 1992 for a period, then after some time away from the District, he moved back in 2018. A property professional for over 25 years’, his diverse background covers experience in land development, civil and building construction, consenting and land title, property acquisition and disposal, project and development management. He currently works as a Senior Property Consultant for The Property Group.
