QLCHT as a Landlord

QLCHT is classed as a social landlord.  As with any residential landlord, we must adhere to the Residential Tenancies Act.

With all our rental programmes, rents are charged weekly and are subject to an annual rent review. We set our rents at the lower quartile of market rents for our district, except for Public Housing Rental where MSD sets the rent based on the household's income. All our tenancies are subject to a bond of four weeks' rent, which is lodged with Tenancy Services.

As Secure Home is an assisted ownership programme and not a rental programme, it sits outside of the Residential Tenancies Act. Instead, there is a well-documented agreement in place to detail the rights and responsibilities of both the household and QLCHT.
